Beautiful Freaks is a series of resin casted artdolls by Spanish artist Álvaro Herranz and inspired by the cabinets of medical curiosities of nineteenth century.
In this kind of neobarroquist collection, the artist recreates some of the usual phenomena or "freaks" that could be found about 200 years ago in circuses' exhibitions throughout the Western world, using for his means delicate BJD-like dolls, enhancing the sensuality and sexuality of the figures while looking for beauty in imperfection.
